profile photo of Abigail Trickey Abigail is a musician and educational assessment specialist with a background in woodwind teaching. She has worked for awarding organisations in the UK music education sector since 2008 and currently leads on the design, development and evaluation of a portfolio of music qualifications ranging from Entry Level to post-Grade 8.

Abigail studied Music (BA Hons) at the University of Sussex and Jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire. She holds a Postgraduate Advanced Certificate in Education Studies and an MEd (Transforming Practice) from the University of Cambridge. Her master’s research, which explored the impact of digital assessment on instrumental music teaching and learning, was awarded a Distinction, the Best Dissertation Award and a College Master’s Prize. She is currently undertaking doctoral research at UCL’s Institute of Education, supervised by Professor Evangelos Himonides and Dr Ross Purves.
